Modern Techniques for Flood Susceptibility Estimation across the Deltaic Region (Danube Delta) from the Black Sea’s Romanian Sector

Floods have become more and severe frequent with global climate change. The present study focuses on the Black Sea’s immediate riparian area over which Danube Delta extends. Due to accelerated increase in severity of floods, vulnerability deltaic areas is augmenting. Therefore, it very important adopt measures mitigate negative effects these phenomena. basis limit activity identifying prone flooding. Thus, this research paper presents a methodology for estimating flood susceptibility using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) Fuzzy-Analytical (FAHP) models. To determine natural risk phenomena, following eight predictors were taken into account: slope, elevation, altitude above channel, land use, hydrological soil group, lithology distance from river, water bodies. Furthermore, weights that each predictor has terms determining determined through previously mentioned results revealed slope most predictor, followed by use. These used GIS environment evaluate floods spatial point view. high/very high value phenomena occupy 70% surface Delta.
